Project change is inevitable so savvy owners plan for the possibility of change in advance. Contractors often take advantage of changing conditions by requesting additional money.

 

Sometimes the requests are valid but often portions of the cost are already included in the original contract. Sometimes the cost of the change is simply inflated.
